The Print Challenge
St. Elizabeth Healthcare constructed a new Cancer Center in Edgewood, Kentucky. Upon completion they held a “Topping Out” ceremony for the installation of the final i-beam. The hospital wanted to commemorate the significance by having patients, caregivers and oncology staff sign the i-beam. However, it was important to them that the i-beam have St. Elizabeth Healthcare branding as well as honor cancer patients, their families, and oncology staff. They approach Evolution creative solutions for ideas.
Evolution’s Creative Solution:
Our customer solutions team recommended printing adhesive stickers to place on the i-beam. Large stickers on two sides of the i-beam held the St. Elizabeth Physician logo and the Healthcare logo. Across the top of the i-beam was a sticker with images of 43 cancer ribbons. Due to the sensitivity to correctly representing each cancer with the appropriate color, it was imperative to use a stock with excellent uniform ink coverage. The stickers needed permanent adhesive and the surface had to be writable.
The final solution was installed on the i-beam and presented to the community for signatures. The building was completed with the installation of the i-beam marking the meaning behind the construction: honoring those who have been impacted by cancer.
