The Business Problem
St. Elizabeth Healthcare wanted to provide each admitted patient with a booklet to journal their hospital stay. The booklet needed to provide storage for paperwork as well as places to track test results, questions, discharge and follow up information, glossary of healthcare terms, place to record the provider team, and health care tips for home. This would be a 40 page booklet. They came to Evolution creative solutions for printing.
Evolution’s Creative Solution
The Customer Solutions Team assigned to this patient journal considered size and recommended 6” x 4.5”, a smaller booklet easy to tuck into a purse or pocket. The front and back covers were die cut, folded, and glued to create pockets. Coil binding allowed the booklet to fold flat to make a handheld writing surface. Hard proofs allowed the client to test the size and format for usability as well as to confirm colors and image placement. The booklets were printed in a large quantity (an estimated year’s worth) for cost efficiency. Evolution creative solutions stored and managed the inventory, shipping requested quantities to the hospital monthly. This process provided efficiencies in printing as well as inventory management.
