Print Challenge: Throughout the year, University of Cincinnati medical students who are residents at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital present research. These residents are required to present research findings on posters that comply with brand guidelines. Marketing approved a dozen templates for residents to use to create the .pdf file for printing. In addition to the pre-approved templates, residents needed an online format for ordering the poster prints in one of five sizes. Overnight turnaround on printing and delivery to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital were requirements, too. Because some residents travel with the research poster, there needed to be an option to print on oversized paper or on fabric. Finally, a checkout system had to be included to streamline the process and keep Marketing out of the payment process.
Evolution’s Creative Solution: We worked with Cincinnati Children’s to define a process for residents to use when ordering research posters. The process includes providing residents with clear directions and thumbnail images of research poster layouts. After selecting their template, residents download and create the poster. Residents then email the completed order form and print ready .pdf directly to Evolution creative solutions. After review by Evolution creative solutions, approved orders are paid for and prepared for printing. All orders submitted by 4:00 p.m. will be delivered to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. the next day.
