Project: The Christ Hospital Foundation 2022 Gala Invitation
Print Challenge: The biggest fundraiser of the year for The Christ Hospital Foundation is their annual gala. During the pandemic the event was virtual, but the 2022 gala was an in-person event benefiting The Christ Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute. For any fundraising event it is important to deliver an invitation that makes the guest feel important and valued. For this gala the graphic designer created a memorable invitation. The complex invitation had multiple pieces intended to be inserted into a clear envelope. The invitation itself was a 19 x 25 poster folded to a finished size of 7 x 5. An RSVP, pledge card, map and return envelope were also part of the invite. The pieces need to be collated, with the invitation inserted into the envelope in a specific direction so the theme could be seen through the envelope without the return address and recipient address covering the theme. The Christ Hospital Foundation needed a vendor they could trust to print, fulfill, address and mail 1,200 of these intricate invitations.
Evolution’s Creative Solution: After reviewing the gala invitation design, our customer solutions representative determined that Evolution creative solutions had the capabilities to complete the project. There was a cost savings in using off-set printing for the larger piece so we recommended off-set printing for the 19x 25 invitation and digital printing for the other pieces. Colors were matched on all pieces to ensure brand and design consistency. To provide translucency the outer envelope was vellum. Due to the construction of vellum paper it had to be laser printed. Throughout the process we provided several hard-copy proofs and quick turn-around on revisions to perfect the design.
After printing, folding, collating, and hand-inserting the invitations, we worked with our HIPPA-complaint mail house to address and mail the invitations. The end result was a glamorous gala invitation.
