Build school spirit with direct mail targeting alumni and donors

Print Challenge: Founded in 1893 St. Henry District High School is a Catholic school in Erlanger, KY that enrolls approximately 400 students in grades nine through twelve. To help maintain the connected community they’ve created over the past 90 years, they mail  their Crusader Connection newsletter about once a year. The 32-page booklet includes articles on all extra-curricular activities as well as full-color photos of teams and groups. Development staff at St. Henry District High School write, photograph, and design the booklet. Due to the size of the booklet as well as the large mailing list, they needed a print vendor who could print, bind, address and flat mail the booklet.

Evolution’s Creative Solution: After reviewing the art files and mail list, we decided to offset print and saddle-stitch the booklet.  Due to the full-color photography used throughout the booklet, we recommended using glossy paper. Saddle stitching kept the booklet flat for mailing. Flat mailing doesn’t use an envelope, which saves costs on the envelopes as well as on costs for inserting the booklet into the envelope.

Once printed, we sent the booklets to our fulfillment vendor to be addressed and mailed. For the best customer convenience, we used our Evolution creative solutions mail permit. The final booklet arrived in mailboxes of Crusader alumni, donors and friends to keep them updated and connected with the St. Henry District High School community.
