The Business Challenges
The Cincinnati catering business Magnificent Morsels decided to expand and offer a product line of innovative 3-in-1 Spice Blends intended to empower home chefs. Extending the brand to merchandise involved consultation on brand development, graphic design and print. To ensure final decisions on color, font, and logo sizing resulted in attention-grabbing and readable labels, prototyping was required. Magnificent Morsels partnered with Evolution creative solutions for our graphic design and print expertise.
Evolution’s Creative Solution
The Customer Solutions Team consulted with owner and chef Crystal Render. During multiple consultations the graphic design team learned the spice blends and the jar sizes. They provided a variety of label designs in multiple colors to test colors, fonts, and readability. During this prototyping phase, the team refined the design decisions until Chef approved the final, award-winning version. Variations on the design differentiate between the spice blend flavor profiles from regular to low sodium, zero salt, or spicy. In all, 22 spice labels were approved. The jar label designs were altered as needed to print on bag labels, too.
