Evolution creative solutions prides itself on producing high-quality print pieces. When asked to collaborate on an invitation for a nursing school’s milestone anniversary we approached the project with the care and precision deserving of a high status event. The result was an outstanding invitation that won Bronze in the 2023 Graphic Media Alliance Print Excellence Awards.
The Business Challenges
The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences celebrated their 120th anniversary in 2022 with a special dinner and program. The invitation needed to match the status of this historic moment. The college wanted to differentiate the invitation per recipient without the costly option of designing and printing multiple versions of the invitation. Aged photos were used to evoke the pride of providing more than a century of quality nursing education and it was imperative that the print quality bring radiance to the photos. Most importantly, the invitation had to be noticed.
Evolution’s Creative Solution
Working with the client we addressed customization and print options. First, to address personalization, we suggested an insert allowing the hospital to include hand-written notes for certain guests but keeping a standard invitation for all. Second, we suggested a square invitation which would stand out from standard rectangular mail. While the postage to mail a square invitation is slightly higher, the noticeability of the shape increases the probability that the invitation will be opened. Last, we addressed print quality by suggesting a pearlescent stock for the cover to provide a luster and smooth touch to match the grandeur of the event.
Guests received a lovely invitation marking the 120th anniversary of The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences invoking pride in an institution they care deeply about.
