Project: Clinical Research Requisite Coil Bound Books
Printing Challenge: Cincinnati Children’s employees are required to complete continuing education and training including a professional research education program. The instructor has a Power Point presentation for the class. She wanted a spiral bound book containing the slides to provide as a textbook. The book contains almost 300 pages and students need to be able to quickly navigate from section to section. The class is taught quarterly and there are regular updates made to the slides so the book needed to be made in such a way that revisions could easily be made prior to printing.
Evolution’s Creative Solution: After gathering the requirements from the instructor, we decided that a digitally printed, spiral-bound notebook with color page dividers as well as printed paper tabs would provide what she needed. To keep costs as low as possible, we recommended printing the cover in full color but the rest of the manual in black and white. The cover is printed on a heavier stock for durability. The color pages and tabs that divide sections stand out and help students navigate quickly to the right section. When it is time for the next class, the instructor sends us the updated slides and we replace pages in the digital print file before printing.
